New Year’s Eve festivities have ended a while ago and everyone is still singing there’s “murder on the dance floor.”
Emerald Fennell’s 2023 psychological thriller “Saltburn” – which features Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s disco-pop track “Murder on the Dancefloor” in a viral final scene – is the talk of the town.
The movie, released on Nov. 17, 2023, follows University of Oxford scholarship student Oliver Quick (Barry Keoghan) as he spends the summer with his classmate, Felix Catton (Jacob Elordi), at Felix’s sweeping estate, Saltburn.
The thriller’s star-studded cast, electric visuals and shockingly explicit imagery have rocked the internet.
One “Saltburn” super-fan got the movie’s infamous grave scene tattooed on her upper thigh. “Murder on the Dancefloor,” which never quite made a splash in the United States upon its release in 2001, has entered the Hot 100 and topped Spotify’s viral-hits playlist in the weeks since its “Saltburn” feature. A candle called “Jacob Elordi’s Bathwater,” inspired by one of the film’s most provocative scenes, is now for sale on Amazon and Etsy.
Less than two weeks after the film premiered in theaters, Amazon announced that the film would be available to stream on Prime Video.
Here’s how to join the “Saltburn” mania from the comfort of your very own home.
Where to watch ‘Saltburn’
“Saltburn” is available to stream now on Prime Video, included in an Amazon Prime membership, priced at $14.99 monthly or $139 annually.
