Ever since production wrapped on the fifth season of Virgin River at the end of 2022, fans have eagerly awaited the resolution of various storylines in the Netflix series. From the illicit drug trade to paternity mysteries and a web of complicated love affairs, this romantic drama with soap opera undertones has a lot in store for its upcoming season. The first part of Season 5 will premiere on September 7, and Netflix has released a set of enticing images that give a glimpse into the lives of favorite (and not-so-favorite) characters when the story continues.
The series Virgin River premiered in 2019 and introduced viewers to the eventful life of Melinda “Mel” Monroe (Alexandra Breckinridge). Mel leaves behind her old life to become a midwife and nurse in the small town of Virgin River, located in Northern California. However, she quickly learns that small-town living can be filled with unexpected intensity. One of the biggest surprises for Mel was finding love with Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson), the owner of the local bar and a former U.S. Marine dealing with PTSD. The relationship between Mel and Jack has been at the heart of the series, so it’s no wonder that one of the images shows them in an intimate embrace, their faces touching.
Jack’s bar is a significant meeting place in Virgin River, where relationships are formed and tested, and friendships are put to the ultimate challenge. Hence, it is fitting that the bar is featured in several images.
