Valiant Entertainment has entered into a partnership with Alien Books to expand their publishing capabilities. This collaboration aims to increase Valiant’s output, which has been limited to only one comic book a month in 2023. Currently, X-O Manowar Unconquered by Becky Cloonan, Michael Conrad, and Liam Sharp is being published, and in September, it will be replaced by Ninjak Superkillers by Jeff Parker, Mike Norton, Andrew Dalhouse, and Dave Sharpe. However, with this new partnership, Valiant hopes to publish more than one comic book a month.
Alien Books is a small art studio directed by Matias Timarchi. They recently formed a partnership with Fairsquare Comics, a New York publisher, and have released titles like The Art of Ariel Olivetti and Blood, Love Ghost, and A Deady Spell by Damian Connelly, Leandro Fernandez, Howard Chaykin, and Ediuardo Risso. Now, the Fairsquare/Alien partnership will also include Valiant.
Russ Brown, Valiant’s President of Consumer Products, Promotions & Ad Sales, expressed his commitment to expanding Valiant’s publishing line. He believes that this collaboration with Alien Books presents an opportunity to push the boundaries of comic book publishing and develop Valiant’s intellectual property for a global audience.
Matias Timarchi, director of Alien Books, is thrilled to collaborate with Valiant and work on new stories within their connected superhero universe. He aims to expand the Valiant universe by creating new books that will engage both longtime fans and a new generation of readers interested in webtoons, manga, and digital storytelling experiences.
As for the upcoming solicitations for October, it remains to be seen how the partnership between Fairsquare, Alien Books, and Valiant will be represented. In the meantime, the September 2023 solicitations include Alien Books titles previously published by Heavy Metal Magazine, such as Zomvikings and Dracula X Frankenstein. Alongside these titles, Valiant is releasing Ninjak Superkillers.
