Toy Trains VR Gets New Levels And A Sandbox Mode

Toy Trains VR will receive new levels, a sandbox mode and more in today’s free ‘Infinite Loop’ update.

Released in January, Toy Trains is a nostalgic VR puzzle game set in your grandparents’ attic. This campaign sees you use trains to deliver materials from a construction site to each location, building landmarks like a local cinema or city hall. Marking its first major post-launch update, developer Something Random confirmed it’s receiving 12 new levels, a sandbox mode and more.

“This is the Toy Trains we wanted from the very beginning,” – says Marcin Jóźwik, Project Lead of Toy Trains in a prepared statement. “Much more to explore and easier to grasp with a completely new level of freedom. A thank you letter to the whole community for all the support and feedback.”

We had positive impressions in our Toy Trains hands-on at launch. Calling it a “wonderfully cozy” puzzle game that “recaptures the childhood magic of model train sets,” we praised the colorful presentation on Quest 3, open-ended challenges and gameplay depth.

Toy Trains is available now on PC VRPSVR 2 and the Meta Quest platform. A Pico version is also coming, though the release date remains unconfirmed.
