Joshua and his team of elite operatives journey across enemy lines, into the dark heart of AI-occupied territory… only to discover the world-ending weapon he’s been instructed to destroy is an AI in the form of a young child.
This film is another grand-scale, science fiction project from Gareth Edwards, known for his previous successful directorial works such as “Rogue One” and “Godzilla.” The visuals and scope of his previous films have received widespread acclaim, and the trailer for “The Creator” follows suit with awe-inspiring shots of AI-controlled machines surveying landscapes for potential threats while John David Washington’s character tries to elude detection.
The cast of the film includes Gemma Chan, Ken Wanatabe, Allison Janney, and Madeleine Yuna Voyles. Although Danny McBride and Benedict Wong were initially cast, they had to withdraw from the project. “The Creator” is co-written by Gareth Edwards and Chris Weitz, who previously collaborated on “Rogue One.” Edwards also serves as a producer alongside Kiri Hart, Jim Spencer, and Academy Award nominee Arnon Milchan.
