The ‘Star Wars’ Scene-Stealer Everyone Wants To Return Keeping It Close to the Chest

After a long stint on Disney Plus, the beloved franchise Star Wars is finally making a comeback to the big screen. During this year’s Celebration, fans were treated to the announcement of three new movies: a sequel to The Rise of Skywalker featuring Daisy Ridley, a prequel exploring the origins of the Jedi Order helmed by James Mangold from Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, and, most excitingly for fans of The Mandalorian, a crossover extravaganza from Dave Filoni that will intertwine the various streaming shows in an Avengers-style movie.

It’s highly likely that Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin will be a part of this epic endeavor, and we can’t help but suspect that Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano and Temuera Morrison’s Boba Fett will join the fray as well. However, what about a smaller yet equally adored character like Timothy Olyphant’s Cobb Vanth? He stole the show in both The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, so it’s only fair to wonder if it’s time for his triumphant return.

During an interview with The Playlist’s Bingeworthy Podcast, Olyphant remained tight-lipped, cleverly stating, “If I had any discussions with Filoni, you wouldn’t find out from me.” However, his enthusiasm for revisiting the iconic Tatooine sands shines through:

“Honestly, I consider myself incredibly fortunate with those guys. I only appeared in two episodes, yet I already feel like I’m a part of this expansive universe. They crafted an unforgettable character,” said the actor. “You know, it almost feels like I’m getting away with something here. I did just two episodes, and suddenly I have four action figures. It’s absurd, and I’m aware of that because there are people at the airport with toys now. That’s a new experience for me. But, I had an absolute blast working on those projects, and those guys know that if they call me, I’ll show up. Whether it’s a major event or just a brief appearance, it’s a fun gig.”

Considering Olyphant’s character resides on Tatooine, the most frequently visited planet in the entire Star Wars franchise, it’s highly probable that we’ll see him return sooner rather than later.

Meanwhile, as we eagerly await Filoni’s MandoVerse movie, we’ll catch a glimpse of what’s to come in the upcoming series Ahsoka. This will mark the live-action debut of Grand Admiral Thrawn, portrayed by Lars Mikkelsen, and it’s a safe bet to assume that he’ll serve as a captivating antagonist who won’t be easily defeated within a single season. We can expect him to play a significant role in the forthcoming movie, which, according to the overarching timeline, will lead into the events depicted in The Force Awakens.
