Sonic fans rejoice! The highly-anticipated Sonic Superstars game has been announced and it looks like a return to the classic 2D gameplay with new twists. Developed by Arzest, founded by original Sonic designer Naoto Oshima, Sonic Team boss Takashi Iizuka expressed his trust in Oshima and revealed that Sonic Team is helping with design and other elements. Interestingly, Sega initially approached Sonic Mania director Christian Whitehead, but plans didn’t work out. Jun Senoue, a veteran composer of the series, is the audio lead on Sonic Superstars. The game will be released this autumn on various platforms and will feature Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy, complete with co-op. Get ready to blast through new levels with your favorite characters!
