The only Intel CPU to make the list was the Core i5-13600KF, which came in last place. The Ryzen 7 7800X3D is leading the pack with 550 units sold, closely followed by the Ryzen 7 5800X3D with 480 units sold. It’s interesting to note that the 7800X3D is just slightly ahead of its last-gen counterpart. Despite being part of a dead platform, the 5800X3D still offers outstanding gaming performance and is priced at around $320, making it an attractive option for many consumers.
While these sales figures paint a positive picture for AMD, it’s important to note that they may not fully represent the overall market. The latest Steam hardware survey, for example, shows that Intel still dominates around two-thirds of all CPUs sampled by Steam. However, for gamers building new PCs at the moment, AMD appears to be the preferred choice due to the powerful 3D V-Cache technology and competitive pricing.
The Ryzen 7 7800X3D outperforms Intel’s Core i9-13900K in gaming scenarios while being priced at around $440, compared to the Intel chip’s $570 price tag. The lower core count on the AMD CPU may make it less suitable for productivity tasks, but for gaming purposes, it offers a more affordable and faster alternative.
