Terra Quantum, a quantum technology solutions leader, has unveiled the TQ42 Cryptography, an open-source post-quantum cryptography (PQC) library. Released as part of its TQ42 quantum-as-a-service ecosystem, the suite aims to safeguard data from current and future security threats. With the looming risk posed by future quantum computers, the suite offers quantum-resistant algorithms for data protection. TQ42 offers developers a range of post-quantum algorithms and key management functions, enabling its implementation across various platforms.
The library addresses diverse applications, from securing smart home systems to enhancing Wi-Fi and Blockchain security, and achieving Perfect Forward Secrecy in sharing information. Dr. Florian Neukart, Chief Product Officer, emphasizes the importance of adopting appropriate cryptography solutions for maintaining data security and see the TQ42 PQC-based cryptography as a complement to their existing QKD solution. TQ42 Cryptography, available under Free Use and Commercial licenses, provides a user-friendly API and essential security features. The TQ42 library currently uses the C++ language with future plans to include expanded language support including Python. In addition, the company plans to introduce other advanced offerings like Entropy-as-a-Service, and Quantum Keys-as-a-Service in the future.
