Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl might be getting a December release

There is a possibility that Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl will still be released this year, despite the lack of recent updates on the game’s progress.

Due to the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine, Stalker 2 was understandably delayed to 2023. This explains why there hasn’t been much news about the game in recent months. However, a listing on the game’s distributor, Plaion’s store page, indicates that the upcoming shooter may still be released in 2023. The current release date is set for December 1, and unlike other games with placeholder dates on the website, which are listed as December 31, this date seems more specific.

Although it’s not confirmed that the game will be available by the end of the year, the game’s Steam page still mentions a December release date.

Regardless of whether it meets the 2023 release window or not, it’s important to give developer GSC Game World some understanding. The team had to relocate to Prague due to the invasion.

Earlier this year, GSC Game World also experienced a hack, allegedly carried out by a group of hackers on a Russian social network. The team urged fans to avoid any leaked content.

Stalker 2 has been in the making for a long time, with the game’s initial announcement dating back to 2018. It was originally expected to release in 2021 but was delayed due to the pandemic, even before the invasion began.

While the release date of Stalker 2 is still uncertain, whenever it does launch, it will be available on Xbox Series X/S and PC platforms.
