Spectrum Is Running a Special Sale on Two Years of 1-Gig Internet Service

Spectrum is offering 1-Gig internet service for $39.99 a month for two years for customers in the Kansas City, Missouri area. This is the same price as Spectrum’s 300 Mbps plan.

Spectrum describes the plan as its “fastest internet for smart homes, virtual reality explorers, and instant downloads.”

The promotion, spotted earlier by Light Reading, is available in areas like Sedalia and Warrensburg and offers 1 Gbps for households with four or more people. The deal includes streaming and gaming on multiple devices, virtual and augmented reality, as well as smart home hub support, and speedy downloads for large files.

The provider will knock off an additional $5 if you enroll in its auto-pay program at checkout. In addition, Spectrum will give you a $100 Visa Rewards card and a line of Spectrum Mobile free for 12 months. The plan also includes a free modem, antivirus software, and no data caps.

The promotion comes as cable operators are struggling to compete against fiber and 5G home internet offerings. Despite adding 63,000 residential and business internet customers in the third quarter of 2023, Spectrum’s business also saw losses amid cord cutting’s continued growth. In addition, Spectrum’s Chief Financial Officer, Jessica Fischer, said the company could lose broadband subscribers in the fourth quarter.
