The deadline to sign up for your part of a $35 million class action settlement against Apple is next month.
Users who owned an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus between Sept. 16, 2016, and Jan. 3, 2023, who complained of audio issues and paid for Apple to repair them, may be eligible for compensation.
The deadline to sign up and tell the settlement administrators how you want to receive your payment is June 3.
“Apple denies that the devices had such issues and denies all allegations of wrongdoing,” according to the settlement website.
HOW TO KNOW IF YOU’RE ELIGIBLE
If your issue was reflected in Apple’s records as Sound-Speaker, Sound-Microphone, Sound–Receiver, Unexpected Restart / Shutdown, or Power On–Device Unresponsive (“Covered Issues”), you may be eligible, according to the FAQ page on the settlement website.
If you’re still unsure if you’re eligible, you may call 833-633-0343 to find out if you may be part of the settlement.
HOW TO SIGN UP
If you received an email or postcard from the Settlement Administration regarding this lawsuit, you may be eligible to sign up. You must input your Notice ID into the Select Payment tab on the settlement website, and input your preferred form of payment before the deadline to ensure you receive your pay. Users who did not receive notice may use the lookup tool to get their Notice ID, according to the settlement website.
WHAT YOU’RE ENTITLED TO
Those who sing up may receive compensation of at least $50, but no more than $349.
Those who did not pay Apple to repair their device may still be eligible for up to $125 in compensation, according to the settlement website.
