Netflix is preparing for the highly anticipated release of Rebel Moon later this year. The studio has unveiled the first poster for the film, which marks director Zack Snyder’s latest project following their collaboration on Army of the Dead. With this film, Netflix hopes to create a new franchise. They are so confident in its success that they plan to release an alternate cut featuring more explicit elements. Snyder is known for his grand, epic filmmaking style, and Rebel Moon is no exception.
The poster provides another glimpse of Kora, played by Sofia Boutella, the new protagonist who is determined to liberate her home from an evil organization attempting to exploit its resources. On a distant planet facing imminent danger, Kora is their only hope for salvation.
However, Kora will face opposition from the Imperium, the organization she once served alongside General Titus, portrayed by Djimon Hounsou. She must confront the consequences of her past actions and her personal struggles as she embarks on her heroic journey.
The Inspiration Behind Rebel Moon
If the story sounds reminiscent of something from a galaxy far, far away, it’s because Snyder originally conceived the concept while being considered to direct a Star Wars movie. However, the project did not come to fruition, and Snyder saved the idea for another opportunity.
Rebel Moon will premiere on Netflix on December 22. While fans eagerly await a full trailer, they can enjoy the sci-fi feature’s first poster below:
