Silencing Unknown Callers on WhatsApp: Step-by-Step Guide for iOS and Android Users

WhatsApp, the popular instant messaging app by Meta, has introduced a new feature that simplifies the process of rejecting unwanted calls. Now, users can easily silence spam calls from unknown contacts, even if the numbers are not saved in their contact list. This feature, which was announced last week, is available on both Android and iOS versions of WhatsApp.

Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, made the announcement regarding this exciting feature. It allows WhatsApp users to silence incoming calls from unknown contacts. Currently, this feature can be accessed on the stable versions of WhatsApp for Android and iOS.

Despite silencing these calls, users will still receive them and receive a notification for missed calls in case they don’t notice them. However, the calls from unknown numbers will not ring, preventing any disruptions.

If you wish to put calls from unknown numbers on silent mode in your WhatsApp, here are the steps you can follow:

1. Open WhatsApp on your smartphone.
2. Go to “Settings” and select the “Privacy” option.
3. Within the “Privacy” menu, choose the “Calls” tab.
4. Here, you can enable the toggle for “Silence Unknown Calls.”

For Android users, access the “Settings” by clicking on the three-dot icon, while iPhone users can reach the “Settings” menu by selecting the gear icon.

Additionally, users have the option to disable the “Silence Unknown Calls” toggle if they want to continue hearing calls from unknown contacts, including spam calls.

Alternatively, users can choose to save these numbers in their contact list to ensure they don’t miss any important calls from known numbers that aren’t currently saved.
