Paramount has officially announced that Star Trek: Lower Decks’ fourth season will premiere on September 7 on its streaming service.
During a panel at the San Diego Comic-Con in 2023, Paramount confirmed that the highly anticipated animated series will debut in early September and unveiled a captivating teaser image for the upcoming season. The poster pays tribute to Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, adding an extra layer of excitement for fans.
Star Trek: Lower Decks made its debut in 2020, capturing the attention of viewers with its focus on the adventures of a low-ranking support crew aboard the Cerritos. As the eagerly awaited fourth season approaches, fans will be pleased to know that a fifth season is already in development, as confirmed by show creator Mike McMahan in a tweet.
Although IGN did not provide a review for the third season of Lower Decks, my colleague Scott Collura offered his insights on the series premiere back in 2020. He described the show as a valuable addition to the extensive Star Trek universe, skillfully crafted by a creator who deeply understands and appreciates the essence of Star Trek.
In addition to the exciting news about Star Trek: Lower Decks, Paramount also treated fans to a sneak peek at the fifth and final season of Star Trek: Discovery, which is slated for an early premiere next year.
Furthermore, it was revealed that episode seven of the second season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will serve as a crossover episode with Lower Decks, airing a few days prior on Paramount+. Additionally, the ninth episode of Strange New Worlds will be a unique musical episode, set to premiere on August 3.
