Samsung introduces new accessibility feature for color-blind individuals on specific TVs and monitors

Samsung has introduced the SeeColours mode feature on its upcoming 2023 TV and monitor lineup, including the Neo QLED, QLED, OLED, Smart Monitor, and the G95SC gaming monitor. This accessibility feature, originally introduced by the South Korean tech giant in 2017, aims to enhance the viewing experience for individuals with color vision deficiency (CVD).

According to a blog post by Samsung, the SeeColours mode feature provides various settings based on the degree and type of CVD. It offers nine picture presets for users to choose from, allowing them to adjust the red, green, and blue levels to ensure better color distinction on the screen. The company also emphasizes that this feature is not intended to diagnose or treat any medical conditions.

To further emphasize their commitment to accessibility, Samsung has received the “Colour Vision Accessibility” certification from TÜV Rheinland. This recognition aligns with Samsung’s vision of “Screens Everywhere, Screens for All,” demonstrating their dedication to inclusive technologies.

Seokwoo Jason Yong, the Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, expressed excitement about the introduction of additional accessibility features in their 2023 TV and monitor lineup. These features, including SeeColours and Relumino mode, aim to assist individuals with color blindness and low vision. Yong affirms that Samsung will continue to innovate and bring inclusive technologies closer to their consumers.

Overall, Samsung’s SeeColours mode feature, along with their focus on accessibility and inclusion, sets them apart as a leading brand in the TV and monitor industry. With their commitment to improving the viewing experience for individuals with CVD, Samsung continues to pave the way for a more accessible and inclusive future.
