Several residents of Lombo de Cima and Cruzinhas, in the municipality of Santana, say they have been without Internet, television or telephone since the last storm in Madeira, which occurred last Tuesday morning.
According to them, “the telecommunications cables were affected by the bad weather, meaning that at least in Fajã Grande there is no telephone, Internet (fiber) or television service”.
MEO customers admit that this situation is causing a lot of inconvenience, as they say that there are many people who work from home and who “have not had access to the Internet for days”.
“We are accessing mobile data, which works very poorly in this area and does not allow us to fully carry out our work, and, in addition, we are paying a daily fee to access this data”, lamented a resident, asking for speed. in service repair.
Contacted by DIÁRIO, Jorge Sequeira, director of the company MEO, explained that around 20 customers were affected in Santana, due to a landslide on a road that cut the MEO cable.
“We are working closely with the Regional Roads Directorate and this Friday during the day the situation should be resolved”, he explained, noting that rock workers are carrying out cleaning work.
However, he clarified that customers do not have a fixed network, but they do have a mobile network.
