Interestingly, the same sources that revealed this launch window also hinted at NetEase’s acquisition of Quantic Dream months before it was officially announced. It seems that there may be some credibility to these claims.
It appears that one of the main reasons for Star Wars Eclipse’s delayed release is Quantic Dream’s ongoing struggle to hire new staff. The studio has been dealing with the aftermath of allegations surrounding a poor work culture and sexual harassment, which has made it difficult for them to attract new talent.
Star Wars Eclipse was first unveiled at The Game Awards in 2021 and takes place during the High Republic era. The initial trailer gave fans a glimpse of Yoda overlooking Coruscant from the Jedi Temple, setting the stage for an exciting adventure.
Quantic Dream CEO Guillaume de Fondaumiere has stated that Star Wars Eclipse will embody the “fundamental elements of a Quantic Dream game.” This is in line with the studio’s previous titles such as Detroit: Become Human, Beyond: Two Souls, and Heavy Rain.
Disney is reportedly pushing for two Star Wars games to be released each year, with Star Wars Eclipse being one of the later releases. The next major game in the franchise, Star Wars Outlaws, is being developed by Ubisoft Massive.
