Bethesda is set to make a grand return to QuakeCon as fans are welcomed back to the event after a hiatus caused by the pandemic. QuakeCon is a Bring Your Own Computer (BYOC) celebration that will kick off in Grapevine, Texas on August 10. The event will begin with an opening address that can be watched online through the video provided below. The live stream titled ‘Welcome to QuakeCon 2023’ will start at 6am BST UK time and is expected to last approximately 30 minutes. Rumor has it that during this stream, Bethesda will unveil Quake 2 Remastered, which is speculated to be launched later today.
According to the reliable leaker Billbil-kun, the enhanced version of Quake 2 will be available on various platforms including PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
The game will boast improved sound and visuals, as well as a modern control scheme designed for consoles. It is rumored to be priced at £7.99.
During QuakeCon 2021, an upgraded version of the original Quake was announced, so this won’t be Bethesda’s first surprise game release at the event.
In fact, to build excitement for this year’s QuakeCon, the iconic shooter is currently on sale at discounted prices on multiple platforms.
