PS Plus December Games Tipped to Include Mass Effect Legendary Edition, More

It appears that the lineup of free games for PlayStation Plus this month may have been leaked ahead of schedule. A reputable leaker, Dealabs, who has consistently shared accurate information about additions to the monthly subscription service, has revealed that the featured titles for this month will include Mass Effect Legendary Edition, Biomutant, and Divine Knockout (DKO). These games are expected to be available starting on December 6th and can be accessed through the PS Plus Essential, Extra, and Deluxe/Premium plans. According to the leak, the games will be available on both PS4 and PS5 and can be claimed until January 3, 2023.

If this leak is accurate, the standout offering among the three choices is undoubtedly Mass Effect Legendary Edition. This package includes BioWare’s critically acclaimed sci-fi trilogy, known for its immersive and branching narratives. The Legendary Edition also boasts visual enhancements tailored for the new generation and includes over 40 DLCs from all three games, featuring promotional weapons, armor, and packs. Biomutant, another free game option, offers players a post-apocalyptic world where they can engage in a mix of martial arts combat and gunplay. Lastly, Divine Knockout is a brand new fighting game that is set to launch on December 6th for PC and PlayStation.

Divine Knockout will effectively become a launch title on PS Plus, as will Stray, although the latter is restricted to certain PS Plus tiers. However, it’s worth noting that Sony has not indicated any plans to make its newer first-party titles, such as Horizon Forbidden West or God of War Ragnarök, available on the monthly subscription service, unlike Xbox’s model.

Earlier this month, Sony’s financial report revealed that PS Plus experienced a decline in subscribers, with a loss of nearly 2 million within the last quarter. The count dropped from 47.3 million to 45.4 million. The report also indicated that the monthly active users on PlayStation Network (PSN) during that period decreased to 102 million, a decline of 1.4 million compared to the previous year.

Currently, subscribers to PS Plus’ Essential, Extra, and Deluxe/Premium plans can claim Nioh 2, the sequel to the Japan-themed Soulslike game, as well as the complete Lego Harry Potter Collection and the atmospheric physics game Heavenly Bodies until December 5th. In November, subscribers on the higher-tier plans also had access to additional titles, including The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Special Edition, the entire Kingdom Hearts saga, and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, among others.

In India, PlayStation Plus subscriptions start at Rs. 499 per month for Essential, Rs. 749 per month for Extra, and Rs. 849 per month for Deluxe.
