Possible Launch Date for Forza Motorsport: October 10th Speculated

Forza Motorsport enthusiasts have been eagerly anticipating the next installment in Turn 10’s racing simulation franchise for quite some time now. The previous iteration, Forza Motorsport 7, was released nearly six years ago, in contrast to the normal two-year interval between new games. However, it appears that the long wait will soon be over as a new rumor, published by Exputer and supported by Rand al’Thor from the Xbox Two podcast, suggests that the game will be launched exactly four months from today, on Tuesday, October 10th.

October seems to be a preferred month for Forza Motorsport releases, with the seventh, third, and fourth entries launched during that month. Despite a crowded month of high-profile releases, including Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Mirage, CI Games’ Lords of the Fallen, Remedy’s Alan Wake II, Insomniac’s Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, THQ Nordic’s Alone in the Dark, and SEGA’s Total War: Pharaoh, Forza Motorsport stands out from them all, and like all first-party games published by Microsoft, it will be available on Game Pass from the very beginning.

According to Turn 10, the new Forza Motorsport game is the most technologically advanced racing game ever created. Creative director Chris Esaki explained a couple of years ago that the physics improvements from the previous version to the new one are as significant as those between Forza Motorsport 4 and Forza Motorsport 7, indicating a substantial increase in simulation accuracy.

For example, the new tire collision model has eight points of contact on the track, compared to just one point in the previous model. Additionally, the dynamic day/night cycle and weather affect the track’s temperature, while dynamic rubbering accumulates on the track, which gradually becomes sticky as tire rubber is left behind.

Upon release, Forza Motorsport will include over 500 cars and 800 upgrades, as well as tracks set in 20 different environments, with five of them being new. Due to the spectrophotometer, which allows the developers to enhance light sensitivity across various colors and gloss levels, cars in the game will appear even more realistic. Individual scratches and dirt buildup can be precisely reproduced with a high degree of accuracy. Furthermore, Forza Motorsport will provide real-time ray tracing, although it is unclear whether it will be solely for reflections, as it is in Forza Horizon 5, or for something else.

Forza Motorsport will be available on PC and Xbox Series S|X, and Game Pass Ultimate players will be able to enjoy the game through cloud streaming. The official release date will be announced tomorrow during the Xbox Games Showcase at 10 AM Pacific Time.

So, get ready, Forza enthusiasts! It seems that October 10th could be the day to rev up your engines and hit the virtual track for the ultimate racing experience.
