After waiting more than two years, Pokemon Go players finally have the chance to catch the fan-favorite Mega Absol from Raids and needless to say, the community can’t stop talking about it!

While Megas come back for a second round in Raids, typically a few months after the debut, one particular Mega Pokemon hadn’t been up for grabs for two long years until it was finally announced for February 2024, the one-and-only Mega Absol.

Now, fans cannot contain their excitement at the opportunity to get a Mega Absol, as evidenced by their comments on a Reddit post by user ‘WeedleLover2006,’ captioned with: “MEGA ABSOL IS BACK. THIS IS NOT A DRILL” alongside a screengrab of February Raids in Pokemon Go showing the fan-favorite Mega.
Most Pokemon Go players are thrilled to Mega Evolve the Sunglasses Absol obtained from the Fashion Week event in 2023 and earlier, as they commented: “I’ll finally be able to mega my swagsol from fashion week a couple years ago” and “Time to finally mega evolve Elvira, my 4** sunglasses Absol.”

While Mega Absol won’t be donning sunglasses, the event gave many trainers a high IV or shiny Absol, and they’re eager to unlock the Mega in February.
When one user asked why Mega Abssol is a “big deal,” another replied: “Mega Absol only came out once. Lotta people missed it/started after it,” pointing out that it would also be a Pokedex entry for several players.
That’s not all as even those who lacked enough Mega Energy for Absol during its debut in 2021 struggled to collect more of the resource later. “During the Halloween event in 2022 there were also tasks for 20 Absol energy each but from my experience, it was waaaay more rare than Gengar energy tasks,” a fan explained.
