PlayStation Plus April 2023 Delivers Extra, Deluxe Games: Doom Eternal, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, and Wolfenstein: The Old Blood

Doom Eternal takes the lead among the exciting new additions to the PlayStation Plus Extra and Deluxe/Premium catalog this month. Starting on April 18, higher-tier PS Plus subscribers will have the opportunity to play Bethesda’s thrilling demonic shooter. In this game, players engage in intense battles against diabolical monsters using a variety of weapons and tools, such as firearms, a flamethrower, and a wrist-mounted blade. The game is set against a fiery, hellish landscape and can be enjoyed on both PS4 and PS5 consoles.

Adding to the lineup of titles for April is Kena: Bridge of Spirits, a charming adventure game with both exploration and fast-paced combat elements. Players will find themselves in a cutesy fantasy world, fending off Corrupt Spirits.

Despite being previously offered as a free title for all tiers of PS Plus members, the popular platformer Sackboy: A Big Adventure is still being featured in the April Game Catalog. Additionally, for those who may not have previously explored the world of card games, Slay the Spire offers a unique and engaging experience. This game incorporates elements from roguelikes, challenging players to defeat enemies and climb the spire using a deck of carefully crafted cards. Each run in Slay the Spire offers a fresh experience, as layouts, enemies, and relics are shuffled, allowing for endless possibilities. Slay the Spire will be available to play on the PS4.

Bethesda brings two more thrilling entries to the PlayStation Plus catalog this month with Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus and Wolfenstein: The Old Blood. In Wolfenstein II, players assume the role of BJ Blazkowicz, also known as Terror-Billy, a member of the Resistance on a mission to recruit a brave crew to fight against the Nazis in a US under their control. Armed with a wide range of weaponry, players can unleash their fury on every Nazi in sight, igniting hope for a second American Revolution. Wolfenstein: The Old Blood serves as a prequel and pits players against formidable Super Soldiers, shock troops, and other grotesque creations of war brought to life by the Nazis.

For sports enthusiasts, Riders Republic offers an expansive playground where players can engage in various activities such as bike racing, skiing, snowboarding, and wingsuit gliding. Compete in thrilling PvP races and explore maps set in iconic American national parks such as Bryce Canyon and Yosemite Valley. And let’s not forget that fishing can be considered a sport too! Bassmaster Fishing by Dovetail Games provides a realistic simulation experience where players can showcase their patience, knowledge, and precision as they compete against professional anglers.

Delving into the realm of survival horror, The Evil Within by Shinji Mikami immerses players in a terrifying world filled with nightmarish monsters. Scavenge for supplies and make a hasty retreat while stealthily navigating dangerous encounters and strategically managing resources. Mikami, known for his work on Resident Evil, infuses The Evil Within with survival-horror elements that will keep players on the edge of their seats.
