‘Overwatch 2’ update brings Invasion missions and new hero Illari

Overwatch 2: Invasion was released on August 10, showcasing exciting new features and content.

This highly anticipated update includes three story missions that take place in Gothenburg, Rio de Janeiro, and Toronto. These missions, which have a duration of approximately 30 to 40 minutes, revolve around the intense battle between Overwatch and Null Sector.

In order to access these missions, players can purchase the Invasion Bundle for a minimum of $14.99. Alternatively, the Invasion Ultimate Bundle provides permanent access to the story missions, a new legendary skin for Sojourn, permanent access to Sojourn as a playable character, 2,000 Overwatch Coins, the Null Sector Premium Battle Pass with 20 Battle Pass skips, and two legendary skins for Cassidy and Kiriko. This comprehensive package is priced at $39.99.

Introducing the new support hero Illari, who possesses the ability to heal allies while engaging in combat. Illari wields a long-range auto-charging weapon known as the Solar Rifle, which features a healing beam to turn the tide of battle. Her abilities include Outburst, which propels her into the air while pushing back enemies, and Healing Pylon, a deployable device that continuously heals teammates.

Illari’s ultimate ability, Captive Sun, allows players to unleash a powerful ball of solar energy that slows down enemies and inflicts heavy damage with a delayed explosion.

The newly added game mode, Flashpoint, takes place in the locales of Suravasa and New Junk City. In this mode, two teams composed of five players each compete to secure rotating capture points known as Flashpoints. The first team to capture three points emerges as the victor.

For a limited time from August 10 to September 5, players can engage in the free co-op event titled King’s Row: Underworld. This event offers new challenges that will be progressively added. Additionally, the season’s free battle pass includes:
