One-Month Delay Implemented for Immortals of Aveum to Enhance Polish

Today, Ascendant Studios has officially announced the delay of its highly anticipated debut game, Immortals of Aveum. CEO Bret Robbins conveyed the team’s enthusiasm for the public’s reaction to the game but also shared the need for additional time to refine and optimize the game for all platforms, including PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X.

The new release date is now set for Tuesday, August 22nd, which is nearly a month later than the original launch date of July 20th. This places Immortals of Aveum in direct competition with other highly anticipated releases such as FromSoftware’s Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, Larian Studios’ Baldur’s Gate III, and Bethesda’s Starfield. While these games cater to different audiences, they are each from well-established and globally acclaimed game developers, unlike Ascendant Studios’ Immortals of Aveum.

Nevertheless, the gameplay footage shown so far has garnered positive attention, as demonstrated in the video captured by our own Kai Powell at the Summer Game Fest 2023. Immortals of Aveum is powered by Unreal Engine 5.1, making it one of the first games to make use of both the Lumen global illumination system and the Nanite virtualized geometry system.

For PC players, Ascendant Studios has released the official system requirements, which are relatively demanding. The minimum specifications include an Intel Core i7-9700 or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X CPU, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Super or AMD Radeon RX 5700XT GPU, and 16 GB of RAM. The recommended specifications call for an Intel Core i7-12700 or AMD Ryzen 7 5700X CPU, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080Ti or AMD Radeon RX 6800XT GPU, and the same 16 GB of RAM. The game requires a minimum of 110 GB of storage, with an SSD strongly recommended. It is important to note that these requirements may decrease as the game undergoes further optimization.

In terms of gameplay, Immortals of Aveum will feature a Call of Duty-style campaign with a significantly longer playtime of over 25 hours, not including side content. The game incorporates elements of the Metroidvania genre, where players will need to revisit locations and unlock abilities to progress in exploration and puzzles.

For those interested, pre-orders for Immortals of Aveum are already available. The pre-order bonus for all editions is the Purified Arclight, a unique blue sigil that enhances the protagonist’s blue Strike spells and Shatter Fury spell.
