The Return of the Navigation Bar
It should be noted that this is not the first time WhatsApp has introduced the bottom navigation bar for Android. The feature was previously rolled out in a beta update but was later removed in subsequent updates.
With the latest beta version 2.23.13.9, the bottom navigation bar has made a comeback. Our team of beta users has confirmed that the feature is available and functional.
What is the Navigation Bar?
If you’ve used WhatsApp on an iPhone, you may have noticed the bottom navigation bar instead of the top tabs on Android. The tabs have been replaced with a stylish and modern bottom navigation bar, featuring options such as Chats, Status, Communities, and Calls.
Although this redesign offers a fresh look, it comes with a drawback. WhatsApp has removed the swipe navigation gesture, meaning users can no longer swipe left or right to switch between different tabs or options.
Availability
WhatsApp has previously tested and disabled the new navigation bar. Now that it has made a comeback, we anticipate that it will soon be included in the stable build. However, WhatsApp has not made any official statements regarding its availability in the stable version, so users may have to wait for a few updates.
