Mobvoi rolls out Wear OS 3.5 to TicWatch E3 in new update

Mobvoi is rolling out an update for the TicWatch E3. The latest software brings Wear OS 3.5 to the wearable, following a beta program run by the company last year. The rollout will be gradual, with the company announcing a phased plan via its Facebook page.

After updating the TicWatch E3, customers report performance enhancements, user interface improvements, navigation and vibrations. There are new Google apps, though Google Maps, Google Wallet for iOS users, and Google Assistant are no longer available; if you want to use a voice assistant, you could sideload Amazon Alexa. Other apps like Mobvoi Voicememo and TicHearing are also removed. On a positive note, battery life has supposedly been improved, though users might notice greater battery drain initially, with the boost seen after several charging cycles. Plus, there are upgrades for health and fitness tracking tools.

Before installing the update, you must download the new Mobvoi Health app for Android or the Health CoPilot app for iOS. You can then unpair your watch and phone, delete the older Wear OS and Mobvoi apps and erase the watch. Then, you can proceed with the installation. Mobvoi also urges users to ensure their phone is running Android 8.0 and above or iOS 16 and above. Further details on installation can be found on the company’s website. The phased rollout of Wear OS 3.5 for the Mobvoi TicWatch E3 is expected to be completed by January 25th. All of Mobvoi’s products are expected to be running Wear OS 3 in the next few months.
