APPLE is set to pay out $35 million to settle a class action lawsuit in the US.
It means that certain iPhone users will be eligible to receive up to $349 from the tech giant if they meet certain criteria.
If you’re a US resident and owned an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, you may be eligible to receive a payout.
That’s because some of the devices were found to have defective chips.
These chips caused audio issues, which ended up with some iPhone owners paying out of pocket to get them fixed.
If this was you, Apple should send you an email to notify you about compensation.
You need to have owned your iPhone 7 or 7 Plus between September 16, 2016 and January 3, 2023.
It’s important that you reported any of the audio issues mentioned in the settlement to Apple during this time.
According to MacRumors, if you think this applies to you but you haven’t received an email from Apple, you can reach out and enquire.
Email [email protected] to make your claim.

If you do receive an email regarding the settlement, you’ll need to reply and confirm how you’d like to be paid.
There’s a deadline to respond, select a payment method, opt-out, or object to the settlement.
It’s on June 3 so eligible iPhone users still have some time.
The proposed settlement still needs to get approval by a California court by July 18.
If approved, people who paid out of pocket to fix their old iPhone can receive up to $349.
Others could get up to $125, according to Mac Rumors.
You can find out more about the lawsuit on the settlement notice website.
