Pokemon fans in India now have the chance to meet Pikachu and take part in Pokemon related activities at the brand-new event called Pokemon Mela. Spanning three weekends in November and December, this event welcomes fans of all ages.
Organised by DLF Malls in partnership with The Pokemon Company, the Pokemon Mela will take place at three different venues. It kicks off at the DLF Mall of India in Noida on November 17, 18, and 19, followed by DLF Avenue in Saket on December 2 and 3. The final leg will be at DLF Promenade in Vasant Kunj on December 8 and 9, each location offering its own unique attractions.
What’s in the Pokemon Mela
Highlights of the Pokemon Mela include dance performances and parades featuring Pikachu, making its debut public appearance in India. Attendees will have the chance to meet and engage with this beloved Pokemon, and there will be quizzes to test visitors’ Pokemon knowledge.

For young fans, the event offers various Pokemon-themed activities, including watching animated videos, colouring favourite Pokemon characters, and exclusive access to special Pokestops in Pokemon GO.
Social media buffs can enjoy a Pokemon photobooth, take part in a post-and-win campaign, and get the opportunity to win Pokemon plush toys. Visitors will also receive special Pokemon-themed gifts.
Susumu Fukunaga, corporate officer at The Pokemon Company, expressed excitement about the partnership with DLF Malls for the inaugural Pokemon Mela. “Pokemon is here to stay,” he said. “We want to create more and more opportunities to reach out to the audiences in India and find a place in their everyday life. We believe that on-ground events are key to fostering meaningful interactions with existing Pokémon fans, while carving a way to connect with new ones. We invite people in Delhi NCR to join the fun at the venues and experience the enchanting world of Pokemon”.
This Pokemon Mela in Delhi NCR marks the launch of The Pokemon Company’s series of initiatives to introduce Pokemon into India’s pop culture scene. Coinciding with the Mela, the Pokemon UNITE India Open 2023 Finals also took place on November 18.
