Mechanicsburg-based Pierson Computing Connection has announced a Recycling & Waste Reduction Friendly Initiative.

The initiative is aimed at maximizing efficiency while minimizing environmental impact.

“At Pierson Computing Connection, caring for the planet is not just a goal, it is part of our DNA,” Pierson President, Owner and CEO Deb Pierson said in a statement. “Our Recycling & Waste Reduction Initiative exemplifies our dedication to environmental stewardship while simultaneously enhancing operational efficiency. We firmly believe that by proactively addressing sustainability, we can make a positive impact on the world around us.”

According to a company release, Pierson’s initiative is dedicated “to warehouse recycling efforts, covering a wide array of materials including Styrofoam, cardboard, plastic, and metal.”

The release stated that in 2023 Pierson successfully recycled over 9,000 pounds of foam, 205,030 pounds of cardboard, and 123,300 pounds of steel, aluminum, and copper cabling. The company recently acquired a foam densifier designed to convert loose foam into dense blocks.

Pierson has reportedly embraced green packaging practices within its services division since 2012. By implementing green packing techniques, Pierson reduces waste and streamlines operations, resulting in enhanced device distribution and installation speed.

“This improvement not only benefits operational efficiency but also enriches the learning experience for clients while reducing administrative burdens,” the release added.

Founded in 1993, Pierson Computing Connection, Inc. is a Woman Business Enterprise Certified company headquartered in Mechanicsburg. The company specializes in configuration, implementation, design, and installation of professional audio-visual-lighting technology, servers, laptops, networking equipment, and technology logistics across the U.S.
