Max’s Harley Quinn Renewed for a Fifth Season

It’s official: Harley Quinn has been renewed for a fifth season.

In a press release, Warner Bros. Discovery confirmed that the adult animated series will return for another season on its streaming service Max.

“We’re thrilled that the news of Harley and Ivy’s continuing misadventures is finally out and we can stop telling people in secret,” executive producers Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker, and Dean Lorey co-wrote in a statement. “We must have handed out at least three thousand NDAs by now. It was a big waste of paper.”

The series, which debuted in 2019, stars Kaley Cuoco as the voice of Harley Quinn and follows her various adventures after the character breaks things off with the Joker. Harley Quinn’s fourth season premiered on July 27. It focused on Harley Quinn trying to balance her new role as a crime fighter affiliated with the Bat Family while maintaining her relationship with Poison Ivy.

While Warner Bros. Discovery did not share a release window on when fans can expect Harley Quinn Season 5, the spinoff series Kite Man: Hell Yeah! will premiere sometime next year. The spinoff series will focus on the titular character and his girlfriend, Golden Glider, as the couple opens a bar. A report from last year describes the spinoff show as Cheers, but with DC villains.

In our Season 4 review of Harley Quinn, we said, “Harley Quinn remains ambitious and audacious, but Season 4 is pulled in too many directions for it to be truly great.”
