The Flash is facing criticism for its subpar CGI and overall lack of completeness. However, a new rumor suggests that Marvel is unphased by these negative reviews and actually plans to take inspiration from the DC film and emulate its success in one specific aspect.
The rumor, originating from reliable insider KC Walsh, claims that Ben Affleck was seen on the set of Deadpool 3.
While that’s the extent of the original rumor, it has gained traction with many speculating that Affleck may reprise his role as Matt Murdock, also known as Daredevil, from the 2003 film.
However, even if Marvel decides to bring back Affleck’s Daredevil, it won’t affect Charlie Cox’s established status as the MCU’s Daredevil. Just like Affleck’s Batman doesn’t disrupt James Gunn’s plans for the Gotham hero, the appearance of a Daredevil variant won’t diminish Cox’s portrayal.
It’s important to note that Affleck’s past portrayal of the character doesn’t necessarily guarantee his involvement in Deadpool 3. However, his return would align with the rumors about the film featuring multiple Deadpool variants. So far, there have been no official hints or teases about Affleck’s role in the project. And while I understand that Affleck’s Daredevil has a dedicated fan base, his potential involvement doesn’t carry the same weight as Hugh Jackman reprising his role as Wolverine.
Deadpool 3 will be released in theaters on May 3, 2024.
