March 2023 PlayStation Plus Free Games Lineup Includes Battlefield 2042, Minecraft Dungeons, Code Vein, and More

PlayStation Plus has announced its lineup of free games for March 2023 during its State of Play event. These games will be available to members of PS Plus Essential, Extra, and Deluxe/Premium plans starting from March 7. The titles for this month include the multiplayer shooter Battlefield 2042, the hack-and-slash game Minecraft Dungeons, and the anime-themed Souls-like game Code Vein. Players can add these games to their PS4 and PS5 libraries until April 3. However, they will need to maintain their PS Plus subscriptions to continue enjoying these free games.

During the State of Play event, PlayStation also confirmed that the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, which includes Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, will be added to PS Plus later in March as part of the ‘Game Catalogue’ initiative. This feature is exclusive to higher-tier PS Plus Extra and Deluxe/Premium members and offers four additional games. These games include Ghostwire: Tokyo, Immortals: Fenyx Rising, Rainbow Six Extraction, and Tchia.

Tchia, an indie open-world game set in a tropical environment, will also be available for free through PS Plus Extra and Deluxe. Players can explore this game’s beautiful archipelago, using various modes of transportation to save their father from the tyrant known as Meavora. Tchia releases on March 21 for both PS4 and PS5.

Battlefield 2042, as the latest installment in EA’s long-running shooter franchise, initially faced some criticism for its unfinished state at launch. However, the developers have put in significant effort to improve the game through updates and fixes. The recent season 3 update brings map reworks and new specialists, and the introduction of Portal mode allows players to create unique experiences by combining weapons and tech from past Battlefield games.

Minecraft Dungeons offers an isometric perspective, procedurally generated dungeons, and endless loot. Players can either go solo or team up with three others in co-op mode to defeat the Arch-Illager. This game is reminiscent of the popular Diablo series.

Code Vein is an anime-style action RPG set in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by monstrous creatures. Players take on the role of a Revenant, a resurrected human with vampire-like abilities. Alongside the challenging gameplay similar to Dark Souls, Code Vein introduces an AI partner or online co-op feature, as well as a flexible class system.

In addition to the monthly free games, PlayStation Plus recently added highly acclaimed titles like Horizon Forbidden West, Borderlands 3, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, and Tekken 7 to its Game Catalogue. Subscribers of the Extra and Deluxe tiers have access to these games. PS Plus Deluxe/Premium subscribers can also enjoy a three-hour free trial of God of War Ragnarök.

PlayStation Plus subscriptions in India start at Rs. 499 per month for Essential, Rs. 749 per month for the Extra plan, and Rs. 849 per month for the Deluxe membership. All three tiers include the monthly free games.
