Loki Deleted Scene Shows Chris Hemsworth’s Throg Leaping Into Action

A newly released deleted scene from Loki Season 1 shows Chris Hemsworth’s Throg leaping into action with a miniature Mjolnir, heading straight for Tom Hiddleston’s God of Mischief.

The short clip, presumably taken from the recent physical release of Loki, was shared online by Culture Crave for everyone to Marvel at. The rough cut shows the much bigger cameo that Frog Thor was supposed to have in the series, outside of his blink-and-you’ll-miss-it appearance in Episode 5.

The 11-second video sees Frog Thor crashing Loki’s coronation and stealing the spotlight. Hemsworth, who provides the voice of the Mjölnir-wielding amphibian, yells in anger and disbelief, “You turned me into a frog!” before launching himself at the God of Mischief and giving him a heavy crack across the face.

“Why did they delete this?” one fan quizzed directly beneath the video, to which Culture Crave offered a little more context, explaining in response: “Seems to be during the part where he was being shown scenes from his life which were all pretty depressing, maybe woulda been odd having a funny scene in it.”

While it is unfortunate Frog Thor was deemed unfit for the sacred timeline, Loki producer Eric Martin previously explained why the moment didn’t make it into the final version of the series. He told his followers on X that the team had to cut the character’s cameo down “to keep things moving” despite the hilarity.

Marvel fans caught sight of Throg in Episode 5 of Loki, which saw Hiddleston’s titular trickster traversing the Void – a strange place at the end of time filled to the brim with danger, mystery, and, as it turned out, a Throg-inhabited jar labelled “T365” (likely referencing the Frog of Thunder’s adventures in Thor #365).

Loki returns on October 5 with a second season that will thrust “the infamous God of Mischief into a new set of adventures with the TVA”. Fans can catch up on the story so far by popping the Loki Blu-ray or 4K UHD in their disc drive or watching Marvel Studios’ new ‘Loki Through the Years’ featurette.
