Pokémon TCG Japan unveils Pikachu-themed merchandise set to release in early July 2023, leading up to the launch of the highly anticipated Ruler of the Black Flame expansion.
We are starting to receive more insights and card reveals for the upcoming Scarlet & Violet era set. Pokémon TCG Japan will launch the Charizard-themed expansion called Ruler of the Black Flame on July 28th, featuring a total of 108 cards (excluding Secret Rare cards). This expansion will introduce Tera Pokémon with a distinct Tera type, which differs from their standard typing. Notably, the Dark-type Tera Charizard ex will showcase this feature, as well as the Fire-type Tera Eiscue ex and Electric-type Tera Tyranitar ex. It has been confirmed that Ruler of the Black Flame will form part of the Scarlet & Violet – Obsidian Flames set, which will be released in English in August 2023. The set is expected to combine with cards from the upcoming Japanese ex Starter Decks, as well as remaining cards from other Japanese sets this year. Today, we will take a break from card previews and shift our focus to the various products that will be available at Japan’s Pokémon Center stores in anticipation of the release of Ruler of the Black Flame.
