Introducing Chromebook X: Simplifying your search for the finest ChromeOS laptops

Chromebooks, renowned for their exceptional performance, are often indistinguishable from one another. However, Google is set to change that with its new sub-brand, Chromebook X.

In an article by 9to5Google, it is revealed that Google has been working on a new branding strategy for above-average Chromebook models across various manufacturers. While Google has not yet produced its own device, there is hope that this will change in the near future.

The upcoming brand, tentatively named Chromebook X (subject to change), will feature prominently on the laptop or tablet’s chassis, showcasing an “X” alongside the traditional Chromebook logo or perhaps even standing alone as the sole branding. Rather than the usual “chromeOS” displayed on current devices, this branding will likely make an appearance on a special boot screen.

Aside from the distinct branding, Chromebook X models are expected to differ from other Chromebooks mainly in terms of hardware. Google is reportedly demanding higher RAM, superior camera quality, and a high-end display for X-branded devices. The company has made arrangements for the new models to be equipped with processors from Intel and AMD, including Intel’s 12th Gen chips, AMD Zen 2+, and AMD Zen 3.

Chromebooks have become an essential tool across various industries worldwide. However, a major critique of most Chromebooks is their lack of advanced features. While powerful Chromebooks exist, they are not extraordinary. Fortunately, Chromebook X aims to change this perception while also enhancing accessibility.

To differentiate Chromebook X from lower-end models, Google is reportedly working on exclusive features. Notably, video conferencing is a key focus for the Chromebook X line, compelling manufacturers to enhance camera quality. Additionally, users can expect features like Live Caption, voice isolation, and a built-in portrait blur effect. These features will likely be exclusive to the Chromebook X series, ensuring a superior experience backed by Google and its manufacturing partners.

As of now, the release date for the new line of laptops remains unknown. However, a reliable source close to 9to5Google claims that Chromebook X is set to launch by the end of this year.
