A social media video of a cow purposefully knocking a kitten into a water trough has left the internet in hysterics.
The viral clip, which has been viewed more than 1.3 million times since it was first shared to TikTok on January 7, captured a hilarious moment between the curious tabby cat and the nonchalant cow that occurred on a farm yard in eastern France.
Viewers see the kitten leaping up to the wall of the pen that the farm animal was being kept in, before the cow decided to sniff it and flick it off.
To the kitten’s dismay, it landed in a water trough, but it appeared to be unscathed by the incident and jumped back on to the pen wall to try and buddy up with the cow again. The video’s creator can be heard laughing in the background when the cow decided to toss the cat into the water trough.
The poster, Tiphaine Tournier, who goes by @tiphainetournier on the platform, appears to be a keen horse rider who spends plenty of time on the farm. Tournier appears to be based in eastern France, in Bourgogne-Franche-Comte, which shares a border with Switzerland. Her feed consists of horse riding and animal videos.

Since it was shared to the social media platform on January 7, the TikTok post has been liked by over 83,000 users and commented on more than 600 times, making it Tournier’s most popular insight into farm life to date. Plenty of TikTokers have voiced their funny takes on the viral moment in the post’s comments section.
“She’s so unbothered, my cat could never,” one user wrote.
Another user added: “That was deliberate, calculated and well executed! Cat not bothered! And you were ready! [I’m] guessing they’ve done that before?”
“That was personal,” a third TikToker remarked.
A different user commented: “Aww she’ll learn the laws [and] lands of farm yard life.”
“Oh no, the sweet kitty,” another TikToker shared.
“Oh I screamed,” a sixth user wrote.
