Internet Cracks Jokes as PlayStation Gives Itself Another ’19 Inches of Venom’ Moment

PlayStation UK has unleashed another “19 inches of Venom” moment on Twitter with just one question: “Does busting make you feel good?”

The “busting” is a reference to a lyric in the Ghostbusters theme song where Ray Parker Jr. sings “Bustin’ makes me feel good,” as well as the PSVR 2 title Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord, which released nearly a week before Halloween last month. But the way the question was worded while promoting the PSVR 2 made the internet take it as an innuendo — and they’re running with the joke.

The responses to PlayStation UK’s tweet strike a balance between comedic shock and clarity on the context of the post. Content creator @KillerCam1020 replied to PlayStation UK’s tweet asking how horny the company is to be sharing a post that’s teetering on NSFW territory, embedding a meme of dogs in military outfits carrying bats with the words “Remember, no horny.”

YouTuber @SpawnWaveMedia shared a screenshot of a scene from Kingdom Hearts 3 where Woody pushes Sora aside as a representation of how they believe the conversation between Sony and PlayStation UK’s social media manager went in getting people to talk about the PSVR 2.

Dee Batch, another YouTuber, replied that busting does indeed make him feel good, but draws the line at the depths of space.

“Yes, busting me makes me feel good,” he wrote. “However, I rather not do it in the depths of space. Rather I like tight canals with normal to accommodating depths. Depths of space probably have swallowed whole planets so I’m good on that.”

Some users, like @BeastGamerKuma, have pointed out that the people clutching their pearls at the “bustin'” line never apparently never saw Ghostbusters when it released in 1984, because it was part of the movie’s tagline.

“All the people commenting never saw Ghostbusters in the 80s because that’s the tag line they bust ghost and busting makes you feel good dammit lol,” he said. “Both an innuendo and the point.”

However, this is far from the first time that the “Bustin’ makes me feel good” lyric was turned into an internet meme. In 2015, content creator Neil Cicierega turned it into a YouTube parody by making Ray Parker Jr. sing “Bustin'” repeatedly. To this day, the video has garnered 16.6 million views.
