Infosys is excited to welcome a new HR head, Sushanth Tharappan, who will be taking on the role of head of human resources. This marks the second change in the HR department this year for Infosys. Earlier in the year, Shaji Mathew was appointed as the group head of human resources, effective March 2023. Shaji took over from Krishnamurthy Shankar (Krish), who served in this role until 2015.
Tharappan is replacing Richard Lobo, who held the position for over six years. Lobo has been internally moved to be a part of a special team working directly under chief executive Salil Parekh, as reported in Economic Times.
Prior to this promotion, Tharappan served as senior vice president at Infosys and had also been heading the Infosys Leadership Institute initiative for four years. The initiative offers various leadership training programs, seminars, and workshops for team development and succession planning.
An Experienced Infosys Veteran
Tharappan has been a part of the Infosys Group for over 20 years. Before taking on the role of HR head, he served as the chief people officer at the company’s automation arm, Edgeverve Systems. Tharappan holds a BSc degree from St. Aloysius and an MBA from Mangalore University.

The company is forecasting a 4-7% revenue growth for FY24, which is its slowest expansion in six years.
