Brie Larson may eventually win over the section of Marvel Cinematic Universe fans who continually criticize her, but that day is still far off. The trolls have once again mobilized to undermine the character of Captain Marvel, but this time they are nitpicking more than usual. Meanwhile, a former Daredevil cast member is displeased with how Born Again is being handled and has even made a bold claim about an upcoming series.
Marvel never fails to keep things interesting, and the controversies just keep on coming.
Brie Larson is out there saving the universe, but still branded useless
The latest meme criticizing Brie Larson’s portrayal of Captain Marvel has taken the name “Captain Useless,” highlighting her supposed reliance on other characters to explain her actions in various projects.
Of course, it should be noted that Captain Marvel has never been portrayed as an earthbound hero, but the opportunity to criticize the Academy Award-winning actress, who will star in the upcoming film The Marvels, is too tempting for many.
Echo almost got the Batgirl treatment, claims somebody with no ties to the MCU
There have been rumors suggesting that Echo, a new series coming to Disney Plus in November, was almost canceled entirely, with claims that it had received the same treatment as Batgirl. This speculation was fueled by Charlie Brewster, a stunt double from Netflix’s Daredevil, who shared that he had heard about the potential cancellation. Regardless of the truth behind these rumors, Echo’s release format as the first-ever episodic MCU original to be released all at once has added to the skepticism about its quality.
Daredevil veteran believes Marvel is onto a loser with Born Again
Charlie Brewster, once again making his opinion known, this time expresses his belief that Marvel is making a mistake by not involving any of the original Daredevil team in the reboot of Born Again. This viewpoint is valid, considering that fans of the Netflix series would expect some continuity in its successor, especially with the return of Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock. However, with the recent tease in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, it remains to be seen whether Marvel will deliver on these expectations.
That’s all for another week of Marvel madness, but be sure to check back for more updates tomorrow.
