Hulu’s Animayhem is rolling out the red carpet for visitors to experience the exciting second dimension at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. As a hub for adult animation and anime, Hulu has brought its top shows to the convention in a spectacular way, offering an array of photo opportunities and attractions for attendees. Collider got an exclusive sneak peek at what’s in store, including a visit to the Planet Express HQ and Jesse and Yumyulack’s wall. The exhibit, titled “Hulu Animayhem: Enter the 2nd Dimension,” begins with a photo opportunity featuring beloved characters from the Animayhem catalog. However, the standout attraction is dedicated to Solar Opposites, Hulu’s popular series about a family of aliens struggling to navigate life on Earth. The Wall, a key storyline in the show where replicas of people are stored, takes center stage. Visitors can explore the dystopian world inside The Wall, featuring posters encouraging rebellion against the tyrannical Duke. They’ll also encounter Molly, the mouse kept for her milk, and discover various items thrown to the Wall folk by Jesse and Yumyulack.
Another must-see attraction is dedicated to Futurama, with the series set for revival on Hulu. The Planet Express HQ and the crashed delivery ship have been meticulously recreated. Stepping inside allows fans to immerse themselves in the world of the show. They can sit at the table where Professor Farnsworth delivers his iconic line, “Good news, everyone!” or take photos with Bev, the vending machine who becomes Bender’s partner in mischief. Cutouts of the crew are scattered throughout the building, adding to the experience. Look out for Easter Eggs such as Nibbler’s litter box and farm-fresh eggs.
In addition to these major displays, Hulu has provided interactive photo opportunities for its other series. Fans can sit on the iconic Simpson family couch and create their own couch gag. The Griffin family home sofa is also available for photo ops. With The Simpsons heading into its 35th season, it’s a perfect opportunity to revisit the burgundy seat where it all began. American Dad may be missing the Smith family, but Roger appears in his many disguises, taking the place of his relatives and showcasing his memorable personas, like the infamous Ricky Spanish.
If you prefer a burger, there are seats at Bob’s Burgers’ counter, where a cutout of Bob Belcher awaits, ready to serve up the Ani-mayo-hem Burger with spicy mayo. Bob’s Burgers will continue to delight fans with its 14th and 15th seasons, and it recently received a feature film adaptation. Another series, FX’s Archer, led by the talented H. Jon Benjamin, makes its presence felt with a stylish backdrop for attendees to immerse themselves in the world of the super spy and his team, ahead of its final season releasing later this summer.
