Huawei Blog has discovered a new software update for the Watch GT 4, one of Huawei’s latest smartwatches. To recap, the company issued HarmonyOS 4.0.0.122 (C00M02) over a month ago with sleep tracking and Cycle Calendar app optimises, among other changes. For reference, the Watch GT 4 was one of Huawei’s first smartwatches to ship with HarmonyOS 4, details of which you can find in our in-depth review.
This time, Huawei has released HarmonyOS 4.0.0.140 (C00M03), which Huawei Blog has demonstrated is a 44.91 MB over-the-air (OTA) download. Based on the screenshot below, this month’s update for the Watch GT 4 adds two new features. On the one hand, HarmonyOS 4.0.0.140 (C00M03) introduces more metronome tone options. However, Huawei has not provided any other clarification in this regard, nor does Huawei Blog use the functionality.
On the other hand, the new update introduces app name labels beneath each icon on the app grid. Additionally, HarmonyOS 4.0.0.140 (C00M03) allows you to zoom in on these labels with the Watch GT 4’s digital crown if the default font size is too small. With the update evidently already available in Germany, we suspect that it is only a matter of time before HarmonyOS 4.0.0.140 (C00M03) reaches other markets in which Huawei sells the Watch GT 4.
