Hilarious Video of Horse Stuck in Snow Delights Internet: ‘Lack of Effort’

Horses love rolling and rubbing their bodies in the snow, but that’s just until they get stuck in it, and wish they never had done this to themselves. A horse called Goose has left the internet in stitches after his “mom” had to go to his rescue while playing in the snow.

In a viral clip shared on TikTok this week by its owner, under the username thatmidwestcowgirl, Goose, who is wearing an equine coat to withstand the cold, can be seen lying belly up on the floor, seemingly unable to get back up, as his mom attempts to pull him out of the snow and set him free. Eventually, after much tugging on a rope, the owner gets the horse onto his side and he gets back on his feet.

The hilarious post comes with a caption that says: “Zero days since Goose got stuck in the snow.”

As she tries to help her horse, the poster goes on to imagine a conversation between them: “Hi mom,” the horse asks, “are you stuck?” she says, and he answers: “Obviously, stop staring and help me.”

“Wait where are you going? Mommmm” the horse goes on as she briefly leaves him alone to go fetch some equipment to help turn him around. “Thank goodness, I thought you left me,” he continued, “I’m free. I’ll do it again in one hour so be back mom.”

Some people in the comments believe the horse did not really get stuck in the snow, and that he was just messing with her instead. Horses are renowned for being intelligent creatures, but there’s no direct means to compare their intelligence to that of other creatures.

According to pet wellness experts at PetKeen, some horses are more intelligent than others, with Arabian and Thoroughbreds topping the list.

Horses are capable of reading human body language and can tell if a person is showing submissive or dominant body posture, even if they don’t know them. They can also communicate with body language and not just with their own species.

The poster told Newsweek: “Goose (Majestic Candy) is a 2018 model off-the-track-thoroughbred! He is New York bred by Majestic City and out of Quest for Candy.

“Goose has excelled in his second career competing in ranch-riding, walk-trot, western-riding, games, and other ranch-related competitions. He is an EXTREMELY goofy horse with a huge personality that is showcased on ThatMidwestCowgirl!”

Another user, Mountain Oasis, commented: “Not him just waiting there, upsidedown, for almost no help, I thought you were getting a shovel to dig him out.” And free_spirit67 MysticalAries added: “Definitely a Bulldog in a past life. Zero effort.”
