Here’s What You Can Find in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1

Fortnite finally releases its highly-anticipated Chapter 5 Season 1, adding a wave of new in-game content, along with new mechanics. Here is a quick recap of what to expect.

The return of the OG map was a delight for every fan, considering how it had a nostalgic effect on gamers, and it resulted in the return of several players. The Season OG was able to break records when it comes to player count, and it is reported that it peaked at 6.172 million players, which is astonishing considering the fact that Fortnite is almost a six-year-old title. However, just recently, Epic Games released a new season, which not only includes several exciting bits for gamers, but Fortnite actually plans on maintaining the hype they had set with OG. Below is all the in-game content you could expect with the new season, and it is certainly amazing.

Firstly, as usual, Fortnite has added a variety of new POIs to the map, keeping in line with their “Underground” lore,  which includes taking down The Society’s bosses — including its most notorious boss Valeria. Here are all the POIs below, as described by Epic Games themselves:

The page has turned to a new Chapter, so what direction to turn to? There’s the chaparral biome in the west, containing the classy Ritzy Riviera marina. Looking for something more remote? Venture to the northwest’s boreal forest where the abandoned Rebel’s Roost mansion lies.

Down south in the center of the Island is the grassland biome, whose pristine views are seen by train passengers traveling to Grand Station at Reckless Railways. Take the train to get to various parts of the Island!

That’s the center and the west, now for the rest. In the east are the boreal tundra and boreal snow biomes, comprising the high alpine Hazy Hillside village and elaborate Grand Glacier Hotel. Here’s a look at just some of the Island’s locales.

Let’s move on to the more interesting part, the inclusion of Society Bosses that are spread across the map. Fortnite is much more than a casual BR title and the testament by Epic to always introduce new and distinctive content for its gamers is pretty clear here. The list of Society Bosses includes Oscar, Nisha, Montague, Valeria, and Peter Griffin from Family Guy. Upon defeating the bosses, players will get Society Medallions, and keeping them in your inventory will result in shield regeneration. However, you will be marked on the map for your opponents to catch you up; it is a pretty intriguing tradeoff.

Speaking of in-game content, Fortnite has a pretty extensive list of new interactive items for gamers, and it consists of multiple vehicles along with new weaponry and consumables. The new vehicles include the Grandeur Trailsmasher SUV, along with the Octane, Cyclone, Jäger 619, or Lamborghini Huracán STO Car Bodies from Rocket League, which depends upon how you progress in the Rocket League game mode. Moreover, Fortnite has added new customization options for your vehicle, and those too are in a “dedicated” Locker section. Customizable items include Car Bodies, Decals, and Wheels.

Moving on to weaponry additions, Fortnite has seen a bunch of additions to its weapon arsenal, with the likes of Hammer Pump Shotgun, Frenzy Auto Shotgun, Nemesis AR, Striker AR, Thunder Burst SMG, Hyper SMG, Reaper Sniper Rifle, Ranger Pistol. Fortnite intends to provide gamers with a completely revamped experience following their transition from the OG Season, hence the inclusion of new weapons is definitely a bonus. Another interesting fact is the addition of Mod Benches, which have mods available for many weapons in exchange for Bars. Add mods that reduce recoil and increase mag capacity, but some weapons are modded by default as well. Hence, it all depends on how you want to control your shooting and aiming mechanics.

Finally, the consumable game is going to get a whole lot better, considering that Epic Games have completely changed how we deal with healing up. Starting off, the game sees the inclusion of FlowBerry, which is similar to what the traditional Mushrooms would do, instead, they affect your teammates as well, giving them some shield and a temporary low-gravity effect as well, which provides fall-damage immunity, too. Moving on, when consuming shields and med kits, gamers will now have the option of moving slowly. However, you can’t cancel their healing once it’s initiated.

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 has brought in astonishing in-game content along with enhancing game experience, that will really maintain the interest of gamers. It will be interesting to see what type of player count we see once we get into the season and whether it will be able to maintain the iconic OG Season hype.
