Foxconn-Vedanta chip-making venture ‘failed’, still there’s hope
Earlier this month, Foxconn backed out from a $19.5 billion semiconductor joint venture with Vedanta. The venture failed to attract a technology partner. In February 2022, the two companies signed a joint venture agreement to manufacture chips for various products. Despite the setback, there is still hope as Foxconn is actively looking for suitable partners.
Foxconn stated, “Foxconn is working toward submitting an application related to the Modified Program for Semiconductors and Display Fab Ecosystem. We have been actively reviewing the landscape for optimal partners.”
