“The list price we came up with was in consideration with customers’ willingness to pay for the enterprise value we’re going to bundle into it,” CNBC quoted Aparna Pappu, Google Workspace’s vice president and general manager, as saying.
She said that Google started to take preorders for Duet AI for Google Workspace at the $30 per user price in June, but didn’t disclose it publicly.
“We were a little surprised to see our friends in Redmond come up with the exact same pricing model that we had,” Pappu said, pointing out Microsoft which is based in Redmond, Washington.
Google vs Microsoft revenue

Google Duet AI
In Gmail and Google Docs, Google Duet AI can help users produce a text result by punching in a simple text prompt. In Google Slides, the tool can create images on the basis of the descriptive text provided by the users, create a plan for a project in Google Sheets and take notes in Google Meet for those who missed video calls.
Pappu said that a consumer version of Duet AI for Google Workspace should become available “early next year”.
