Glorbo Fever Spreads to Destiny 2, Fooling Another AI Website in the Process

Congratulations to the passionate Destiny 2 game community for their tireless efforts in bringing Glorbo to life in the game. It’s an achievement that showcases their dedication and enthusiasm. If you’re confused by the previous sentence, don’t worry – it’s intentionally designed to be puzzling. Glorbo isn’t a real entity. However, it has become a growing trend among MMO community members to fool AI-driven websites into generating news about imaginary trends in their favorite games. This clever tactic sheds light on websites that rely solely on AI algorithms to curate content and generate nonsensical headlines.

The Rise of Glorbo

The inception of this phenomenon began last week in World of Warcraft when a community member came up with a brilliant idea to deceive AI websites. By making a Reddit post expressing excitement about the addition of “glorbo” to the game, the community collectively engaged in the joke. They posted multiple responses, each one expressing a unique reaction to the non-existent game feature. Eventually, some of these responses were compiled into a ludicrous but seemingly authentic article on Zleague.gg about the fictitious trend. However, this post has since been removed.

Glorbo rises again.

Inspired by the World of Warcraft prank, the Destiny 2 community has joined in the fun. The Destiny 2 subreddit has been flooded with posts related to Glorbo in recent days, a trend known as Glorboposting. Today, they too successfully tricked an AI system into generating a genuine article about this fictional trend. However, the article itself lacks coherence, with a section posing the question, “How to find the Destiny 2 secret boss Glorbo?” but failing to provide a satisfying answer. It repeatedly confuses Glorbo’s nature, referring to it as a boss, a bug, or a secret strategy throughout the piece.

Glorbo Continues to Spread

To the amusement or perhaps astonishment of the community, several AI-written websites have picked up on Glorbo. This prank highlights the sheer volume of content produced by AI-driven platforms and their lack of thoroughness in verifying information. These websites scrape keywords from Reddit, transforming them into incoherent text that falsely appears authoritative. It serves as a reminder to be cautious about the content you encounter online.

Congratulations to the Destiny 2 community on their discovery of Glorbo. Who knows where Glorbo will appear next in the realm of MMOs? Long live Glorbo!
