The recently unveiled Persona 3 Reload, a 3D remake of the original Persona 3 released in 2006, has generated significant excitement with its latest trailer and screenshots showcased at Anime Expo. Atlus has gone above and beyond to completely revitalize the beloved title.
For the first time, the trailer introduces the talented English voice cast of Persona 3 Reload. Notable voices include Alejandro Saab as Akihiko Sanada, Suzie Yeung as Fuuka Yamagishi, and Allegra Clark as Mitsuru Kirijo.
Completing the rest of the cast are Aleks Le as the playable protagonist Makoto Yuki, Heather Gonzalez as Yukari Takeba, Zeno Robinson as Junpei Iori, Dawn M. Bennett as Aigis, Justine Lee as Ken Amada, and Justice Slocum as Shinjiro Aragaki.
Excited fans were treated to new screenshots showcasing the game’s turn-based battles, dialogue sequences, and character renders of Akihiko, Fuuka, and Mitsuru. Atlus has confirmed that the highly-anticipated remake is on track for a global release in early 2024 and will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series consoles, and Xbox One.
Excitingly, Persona 3 Reload will also be available through Xbox Game Pass. It joins the ranks of other popular Persona titles on the platform, including Persona 5 Royal, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 3 Portable, along with the upcoming release of Persona 5 Tactica.
Unlike Persona 3 Portable, which was leaked prior to the Xbox Games Showcase in June, Persona 3 Reload offers a vastly different experience. The game exclusively utilizes content from the original release of Persona 3, omitting the extras featured in FES and Portable. This remake has been meticulously built from the ground up, resulting in the absence of the option to play as the female protagonist, Kotone Shiomi, introduced in Portable.
Producer Ryota Niitsuma commented on their approach, stating, “We wanted to faithfully recreate the Persona 3 experience. So, we have completely re-recorded voices, added new scenes and events, and incorporated both new and arranged music.”
