In a thought-provoking discussion centred on the future of Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI), industry luminaries gathered to discuss the evolving landscape of GenAI and its implications across various domains. Chaired by Murugaraj P, co-founder and chief technical officer (CTO) of ILM AUDIO Audiobook 2.0, the session provided insights into the current state of GenAI innovation and the challenges that lay ahead.
“GenAI has already gone through a lot of innovation,” remarked Murugaraj P. “It still has to undergo a lot of evolution, but there is a continuity issue with Gen AIs.” Muguraj highlighted the limitations of current GenAI capabilities, citing the capability of OpenAI’s Sora to create a video shot but its inability to create an entire movie.
Praveer Kochhar, co-founder & CTO at KOGO AI, delved into the potential of AI in fostering work-life balance. “AI can deliver work-life balance, thereby giving a sufficient amount of time for work as well as family,” Kochhar asserted. He emphasised the significant computing challenges ahead, stating, “For a single prompt, hundreds of GPUs run simultaneously, and as the demand for resources increases, it will become more challenging to create sufficient infrastructure.”
Nitant Tiwari, Director of SAP, Data Engineering, and Analytics at Tredence Inc, shed light on the current capabilities of AI in addressing complex queries and enhancing employee experiences. “Lakhs of employees, based in multiple cities, can now reach HR using AI,” Tiwari explained. He emphasised the role of Gen AI in simplifying tasks, stating, “The complex queries that could not be answered easily earlier have now been simplified using Gen AI.”
Mandaar Mukesh Giri, founder at Rare Labs, underscored the transformative potential of GenAI in providing instant access to knowledge while acknowledging the risks of misinformation. “Gen AI can answer questions that were not easily answered earlier,” said Giri. He cautioned against ethical concerns, stating, “Labour-intensive tasks coupled with the intelligence of the field may raise ethical concerns.”
Meanwhile, Animesh Samuel, Co-founder and CEO at E42, articulated the unparalleled processing capabilities of AI compared to the human brain. “The brain has a limited memory and cannot process huge amount of data in real-time,” Samuel remarked. He envisioned a future where enterprises powered by AI thrive, asserting, “In a few years, enterprises powered by AI will survive, while others will struggle to survive.”
Overall, the discussion highlighted the transformative potential of Gen AI while acknowledging the challenges that must be addressed to harness its full benefits. As the industry continues to evolve, collaboration and innovation will be critical in shaping a future where AI serves as a catalyst for progress.
