Funko Fusion Teaser announces a thrilling cross-over game with The Umbrella Academy, Jurassic World and other captivating franchises

Funko Pops, the beloved collection of vinyl and bobblehead figurines that has gained a devoted following, is set to enter the world of video games. 10:10 Games has released a tantalizing teaser for their upcoming game, Funko Fusion. This action-adventure multiplayer game will feature characters from popular movies and TV series, with a brief trailer showcasing the colorful cast from NBCUniversal franchises such as The Umbrella Academy, Jurassic World, Shaun of the Dead, He-Man, Chucky the Doll, and more. Fans can expect the release of Funko Fusion in early 2024, available for PC and consoles.

This marks 10:10 Games’ debut project, and they promise to deliver unique personalities and abilities for each character. Given that the studio was co-founded by Jon Burton, a five-time BAFTA award winner and founder of TT Games, it wouldn’t be surprising if Funko Fusion took inspiration from the successful Lego series of video games, such as LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga or LEGO Batman. In a press release, it was revealed that the team consists of experienced veterans who have worked on “brick-based games.” Funko Fusion is also expected to feature online multiplayer, allowing up to four players to join forces, battle enemies, explore stunning environments, and solve intricate puzzles.

Design Director and Co-founder of 10:10 Games, Arthur Parsons, expressed his excitement about the project: “It’s incredibly exciting to be able to show everyone what the team here at 10:10 Games has been up to. By combining the incredible properties we’ve been given by our partners at Universal Games and Digital Platforms, we have created a gaming experience that is not only incredibly fun and surprising, but also authentic and celebrating fandom like never before, all with a unique Funko twist.”

A visit to 10:10 Games’ YouTube channel reveals that an announcement trailer for Funko Fusion was posted about nine months ago, indicating that the game has been in development for quite some time and is not simply an experimental concept.

Currently, Funko Fusion appears to include only NBCUniversal properties, but there is potential for it to expand into other licenses, either as DLC add-ons or even a separate game if it achieves success. From the snippets shown in the trailer, it seems that co-op gameplay might be reminiscent of the Lego games, with split screens or dynamic screen adjustments based on the action unfolding. One scene displays Player 1 shooting droids while Player 2 carries a battery to power an automatic door. One thing is for certain—landing headshots in Funko Fusion will be a breeze.

Look forward to the release of Funko Fusion sometime in 2024, available for PC and various consoles.
